The reason I never reply to your emails is because my ISP (Gotalk.com) has cut our internet off for some reason. It's been down for 7 weeks now and there is no sign of it coming back on. We phone every day but it's impossible to get through to anyone who has the power to do anything - if you've seen the movie Brazil it's bureaucracy gone mad... I wrote them an email to vent my frustrations - please spread the word - DO NOT USE Gotalk.com as your Australian ISP!

Last night was another fantastically normal night in Manly. It started off with Honnahs (* note, names have been encrypted to avoid detection – these are NOT the real names of the people involved – so you can try Googling if you want) mate Lara coming round for a night out. We were celebrating 2 things – 1) Anniko stood up on her first wave (this girls tenacity is awesome – so firm!) 2) Lara finished her exams! Read More »

Right - for those doubters who don't think we will create our own destruction by unnaturally speeding up evolution in robots/cyborgs - I always said a toaster is a harmless robot until you put a gun on it and it becomes a ruthless killing machine (controlled by it's program, currently controlled by it's programmer) Read More »

Move over Lincolnshire, there's a new sausage in town! It's official (or should that be offal?). My favourite sausage is now the Sainsbury Pancetta and Parmesan brand (and don't say "yeah, I can tell!"). Read More »

When you've lived in one of the most popular capitals in the world you become a hotel for travellers from "back home" passing through. At one stage we had peeps staying over every couple of weeks. It's is cool, but it went too far when they started watching me DIY or used my PC to sorf for p0rn when I need to do research etc. So to make it easier to understand I compiled a list of rules to live and die by if you wanna stay at Casa Irwell - I decided to share them here if you are in the same boat (it's hard to say "no" sometimes) Read More »

In my role as visionary and self-appointed Great Prophet, I am often asked what I deem to be the most important or useful invention known to man (and even woman – such complex beasts – although it’s unlikely that hair-straightners, tampons (never trust an animal that bleeds once a month but doesn’t die my good friend Brett always says) or high-heeled shoes would feature; although I believe that there is a purpose for said paraphernalia, if not only to reinforce the illusion of being first class-citizens (“Give women the vote” I say!)) I know a couple of an@l peeps, you know, the type that exhibit strange behaviour and act like complete freaks with no explainable excuse – that’s just the way they are… you could point out to them that they are an@l, but this would probably only make the person more so! So you coexist side-by-side in harmony, and hope they never get violent. Read More »

When I arrived in England as a young immigrant on the shores of this great country, I realised that time and alcohol had addled my brain, and I was battling to recall some of memories of my yoof (I've noticed my speling is taking a knock now too). Hence I decided to write a book called "Mein Anderken", which tightly translated means "My Memories" in German, the relevance which I cannot explain. Read More »
