I was in
the London Science museam about 2 years ago and they had a piece of the Titanic
which that had excavated. They had also kindly put a little hole in the glass
so weird peeps like me could stick their grubby paw through and touch a piece
of living history… cool hey? What have you done?
I was at a
braai on Sunday enjoying the Banky (I was the only peep out of 30 in shorts,
but then I am good like that) – and I met Fi’s new housemate, who turned out to
be extremely interesting. He has a great love for History and I after a brief
discussion on the number of books he had on his bookshelf, he asked me if I
wanted to see something (stoppid! It was nothing like that!). He then proceeded
to show me a carefully stowed-away document that had Hitlers genuine signature
on. (Edit: This has now been stored in a safety deposit box for safekeeping
btw!)
I was
impressed – this is the signature of one of the most infamous tyrants in modern
day history (oxymoronic?) – I reckon there have been a couple more worse fellas
over time (think Ghengis or Atilla or even that bitch Cleopatra (I wonder if
she used to rap “Yo – this is Cleopatra, coming at ya” when she attacked?) but
Hitler is up there with the big boys for global naughtiness and genocide.
Anyway – I took a photo cos I knew Ronny (for one) would not believe me:
“Are you sure it was his sig tho? Could have been anyone
impersonating… hope I get piano, may
not be available anymore but waiting to hear.”

into any more detail about this document because I have not asked permission, but
I think it is pretty cool!
