Right - for those doubters who don't think we will
create our own destruction by unnaturally speeding up evolution in
robots/cyborgs - I always said a toaster is a harmless robot until you put a gun
on it and it becomes a ruthless killing machine (controlled by it's program,
currently controlled by it's programmer)
This video is quite scary actually - check the end
where it hits the center of the target repeatedly (how on EARTH on mere humans
going to compete with even the simplest of robots in 30 years time? Humans have psychological, emotional, physical, mental disabilities; robots have just need some WD40 every now and again) and also
check the poor dude who had to stand in front of it for the demo - probably not
a Robocop fan...
I think the nail in humanities coffin will be the
exact point where robots start being able to evolve themselves without us
pathetic humans help. imagine a factory of robots creating robots and an array of robot programmers tweaking the robots programs and eliminating bugs and weaker element s not needed .. not too far away now...
PS - unemployment is fun! And for the record I am fascinated by robotics and programming, just think it will be the death of me, that's all...
