I actually discovered this little pubbe hidden away on the slopes of Tignes a few years back the first time we went boarding there.
I don't know why I chose to only disclose this little gem of knowledge now, perhaps it was sheer selfishness (quite possibly) or actually more likely probably just forgetfulness.

I've had one of the main pics from our last Tignes trip up as my wallpaper and everytime my dear mum comes to my house she goes on about how much she'd like it, and I promise how I will send it to her one day (it's really not as easy as it sounds sending a photo to someone via email when you a young 20 something in London (29 to be precise).

Anyway - as normal I am getting carried away with what was supposed to be a 1 minute blog post to satisfy the masses. So, without further fanfare (fanfare kicks ado), here is some more info...

In Tignes Le Lac (ps. say "Teen" if you want to sound cool, and say "Tig-nes" if you want to annoy Judi, who thinks she is French, tells her kids she's French and always gets Jeff as cross as you'll ever see him when you in a French restaurant and she corrects his French (but wont speak it) there is a little road off the main street and at the end of this road, nestled like an old warddrobe in Narnia, is the pub (it shall remain nameless cos I don't remember it's name, and besides, naming it might give you a preconception which I wish to avoid).

For me, there are 4 things a good pub should have to qualify for "Best Pub" title:

1) A Big Dog. The more the merrier. This pub had 2 MASSIVE dogs so I awarded it bonus points. Irish wolf hounds to be precise. Paddy and O'reilley were not there names, but could have been.

2) Sofas. If you are not on the pull (are blokes never not?) then you want to sit down and relax, ESPECIALLY after a hard day of boarding and 360 jumps (apparently). This pub was riddled with them like Bonny and Clyde on that fateful day in 1929 or whenever they met their fortunate demise (for the honest citizens, less fortunate for them of course).

3) Milkshake Cocktails. Right. Before your lager louts burn me on the Sambuca Shotglass pile. bear in mind my favourite drink is the humble Milkshake. Combine it with Alcohol (after a hard days boarding - see above) and you have a recipe for a great... drink. They are toppy (£5, which could buy a few crates of beer in my home country *) but worth it, especially if someone else is paying, which has never happened to me. PS. Don't you hate those people who get a coke on their round and then when it's your round they ask for a double Vodka and Redbull, Turtle?)

4) And last but by no means least (indeed, in terms of heat the fire beats dog paws down). a large fire. Of couse, this is a situational, circumstantial argument. Consider for a moment if you were in the Sahara and boiling - would you really want a fire? Of course you would, cos you can burn stuff, but that's not the point.

So... I give you... the best pub in the world (ps. look closely at the pic of Glenn on the right - he's wearing a dumbTV top!!!):
